Match report – 26th March 2011

Flamstead Blacks v Haven Lions

Match report by Nicola Jones

In a game equivalent to a football match in the Premier League,  such as West Ham vs Arsenal, Flamstead All Blacks began their game with Haven Lions, fully expecting to lose as the last match against them ended up with a bit of a trouncing.  We won the toss and with the team still confident following last week’s good win, a quick goal followed.  Goals went with the centre pass for the remainder of that quarter, ending 6-6, the second quarter went the same way, both teams completely evenly matched, and ending 12-12.  In the third quarter, despite our best efforts and some brilliant defending, Haven pulled away a bit, ending the third two goals up at 18-20.  We gave ourselves a bit of talking to between the 3rd and 4th quarters and all played our socks off.  Some great shooting, especially by Tracy, and we not only caught up the deficit but pulled ahead, finishing the match 27-25 up!  A great ending to a great game and probably some of the best netball played this season.

Thanks to Amber and Nina for helping out today… and to Phil who changed her plans and really wasn’t 100% well but still played a blinder.  Well done everyone!!!
