Flamstead Blacks v Leaford Gadeside 3
It was a close call on Saturday especially as Flamstead were facing taking to court with only 6 players!! At the last minute the 7th player (ME!!) arrived with just seconds to spare and we took to the court. It was a tough game against Leaford Gadeside but Flamstead started well finishing the first half with 9 – 8 lead. Becky had a fantastic game at GK making a number of awesome interceptions.
The second half saw Flamstead keep up the winning ways with a final quarter score of 18-17. Phil was working hard at C against an extremely energetic opponent. Everyone fought hard to keep the one point lead.
The beginning of the 3rd quarter saw the Flamstead side become a little bit more rattled on the court, a few awkward decisions got the heads dropping but some great work from Tracy and Becky in the D keep the scores extremely close. Claire B and Sarah J worked hard in the attacking D to keep the score extremely close. Bedders also made some awesome interceptions up the court to help with the turn overs. A few lose passes meant we finished the second half 24-28 with 4 to make up!!
It was a great team effort and although we finished the final quarter 33-38 it was a great battle right to the end!!
