10th June 2010 – Flamstead Blacks v Hares
Flamstead Blacks v Hares
Match report by Louise Rumistrzewicz
What a great game! We started the game in close competition, but maintaining the lead. Hare’s were a lovely team to play and the atmosphere on court was fab. All Flamstead players were encouraging of each other and by half time we were leading by a slim margin. Phil took quite a spectacular tumble at one point and ended up with quite an egg on her elbow. Being the trouper that she is, she carried on undeterred – her play was unaffected!
As the game progressed, we suffered at the mercy of the wind. The 3rd quarter showed this – our passing was not as accurate as it could have been and we finished the quarter down by 1 goal. The final quarter was neck and neck and when the final whistle blew, we were not even sure of the final score – many of us thought we had drawn. But no – we had squeezed out a goal lead and ended the match as victors! Hooray! Well played everyone!
